in Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

Wednesday, April 18

Recommended arrival by noon

Arrival at the Frederic Chopin International Airport in Warsaw

1:10 pm Participants on LOT Flight 16 will be met at the airport by a TJHT representative.

Other arrivals:  Upon exiting the baggage claim area, please proceed directly out of the terminal.  There are licensed taxis available.  Please tell the dispatcher that you would like to pay by credit card and provide him/her with the address of the hotel.

We do not recommend changing money in the airport or the hotel.  There is an ATM in the arrival hall and ATMs can be found throughout the city.

3:00 pm The Taube Jewish Heritage Tour representative will meet you in the lobby of the hotel.

Transfer by van to the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews

3:30 -5:30 pm   Visit the museum at your own pace using the excellent audio-guided tour through the Museum’s eight galleries

5:30 Coffee/tea and light snack, or an opportunity to visit the Museum’s book shop

6:30 pm   Welcome reception in the Museum’s main hall

7:15 pm  Opening of the screening ceremony, “Who Will Write Our History” in POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews

7:30 pm           Welcoming remarks

7:45 pm           Screening of the movie „Who Will Write Our History”

Post-screening Q & A Session led by Dr. Samuel D. Kassow and Roberta Grossman, Director

Thursday, April 19

8:30 am Breakfast in the hotel with journalist, activist and Jewish community founder, Konstanty Gebert

9:30 am Van transfer, accompanied by a TJHT staff member and guide, to the Umshlagplatz from where the walking tour of the former heart of the Warsaw ghetto will begin.

11:00 am Meet at the Museum and Memorial Plaza in advance of the National Ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

12:00 pm Ceremony (reserved seating)

1:00 pm   Lunch in Besamim (Reserved seating)

2:00 pm Meet at the Rappaport Memorial

Walk to Mila 18 for the joint commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

Van to the Okopowa Jewish Cemetery for the continuation of the ceremony

Return to the hotel

6:30 pm Meet in the lobby

7:00 pm   Dinner with the Warsaw KEN

Return to the hotel

Friday, April 20

Breakfast in the hotel

9:30   Meet in the lobby.  Van to the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute

10:00 Guided tour of the permanent exhibition of selections from the Ringelblum Archives and the Institute

12:00 Light lunch on your own at Tusz Tusz (Reservation:  Taube)

1:00 pm Van to the Praga and guided visit to the Zabinski’s Villa in the Warsaw Zoo

3:00 pm Return to the hotel

Optional Shabbat services

Shabbat dinner with Workmen’s Circle tour participants and invited guests at one of Warsaw’s most famous restaurants, U Kucharzy

Return to the hotel by taxi or walk
