Dr. Edyta Gawron is an assistant professor at the Institute of Jewish Studies and has served as the director of the Centre for the Study of the History and Culture of Krakow Jews, at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She received her PhD in 2005 from the Jagiellonian University, Institute of History. As a specialist in the 20th century history of Polish Jews and in Holocaust studies, Dr. Gawron cooperates with various academic institutions and museums in Poland and abroad. She has worked on several exhibitions and museums promoting Jewish history in Poland. Dr. Gawron serves as president of the Management Board of Galicia Jewish Heritage Institute Foundation (Galicia Jewish Museum in Kraków). Edyta Gawron has been also on the team that designed the historical museum in Oskar Schindler’s Factory in Kraków. Dr. Gawron is the author of several publications on wartime and post-war history of Jews in Poland, in particular Kraków.
